‘Khyak! Khyak! KhyakoSS Khyak!’
It was a Langur alarm call. The leader of the gang of Langurs was sitting on the tall tree making alarm calls out of fear for life. Rest of the Langur brigade continued raising the alarm calls. The network of alarm calls was expanding its range as the petrified Langurs speeded to the trees near and far and secured their places on treetops. All this upheaval was created by only one animal’s presence - A Leopard. Many animals make alarm calls when they see a predator- Tiger or Leopard nearby. The Langur is most reliable when it comes to finding clues about the presence of the apex predators in the jungle. The mighty elusive Leopard of Umbarzara was out of its lair. He was on the prowl. Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Why do you weave a garment so gay?
Blue as the wing of a halcyon wild,
We weave the robes of a new-born child.
Weavers, weaving at fall of night,
Why do you weave a garment so bright?
Like the plumes of a peacock, purple and green,
We weave the marriage-veils of a queen.
Weavers, weaving solemn and still,
What do you weave in the moonlight chill,
White as a feather and white as a cloud,
We weave a dead man’s funeral shroud.
About the Poet and Poem: The poem "Indian Weavers" is written by the renowned poetess Sarojini Naidu, also known as the Nightingale of India. It is a short poem depicting the three stages of human life.
Theme: The central theme is the journey of life from birth to death. The weavers weave three types of garments at three different times of the day, which correspond to the three stages of life: childhood (morning/birth), adulthood (evening/marriage), and death (night/funeral).
Poetic Style & Language: The poem has a rhythmic flow with a Rhyme Scheme of aabb for all stanzas. The language is simple yet profound.
Figures of Speech: The poet uses Simile effectively (e.g., "Blue as the wing of a halcyon wild", "White as a feather"). Imagery is used to describe colorful garments.
Message: The poem beautifully conveys the cycle of life and the inevitability of death through the metaphor of weaving.

2. Statement Of Purpose:
You are an avid animal lover. You have a pet dog and some love birds at home. You are extremely fond of them. You have been a member of bird watcher’s club. You have loved going on a safari. You have taken care of orphan animals, or animals who are hurt. In school you loved Biology. You wish to make a career in this field. The University of Cambridge offers an excellent course/programme which would boost your career. Make a Statement of Purpose which will help you to get admission to this University.
Title: Statement of Purpose
Since my childhood, the chirp of lovebirds and the loyal companionship of my pet dog have defined my home. My fascination with the living world extends beyond pets; as an active member of the local Bird Watcher’s Club, I have spent countless hours observing avian behavior. My recent safari experience was transformative, solidifying my resolve to protect biodiversity. I have often volunteered to care for injured and orphaned animals, realizing that compassion must be paired with scientific knowledge to make a real difference.
Academically, Biology has always been my forte. I am deeply interested in understanding ecosystem dynamics and conservation strategies. I wish to pursue a career in Zoology to contribute to wildlife preservation. The undergraduate programme in Zoology at the University of Cambridge, with its world-class research facilities and illustrious history, is my dream destination. I believe this course will equip me with the necessary skills and global perspective to become a dedicated conservationist.
3. Group Discussion:
There is an inter-school cricket match and your school is losing. As you are the captain, have a group discussion with your teammates in the teabreak about the strategy to be followed to save your school from losing the match. Give at least four/five suggestions.
Topic: Strategy to save the match
Participants: Captain (Me), Rahul (Bowler), Amit (Wicketkeeper), Sameer (Fielder)
Captain: Listen up, team. We are in a tough spot, but the match isn't over yet. We need a solid plan for the next session to turn this around.
Rahul: I agree. Their batsmen are playing the fast bowlers too easily. I suggest we switch to spin immediately to break their rhythm.
Amit: Good point. Also, as a wicketkeeper, I can see they are stealing singles easily. We need to tighten our fielding circle.
Sameer: I'll move to short mid-wicket to stop those quick singles. We should also try to sledge a bit, within limits, to disturb their concentration.
Captain: Excellent. So, here is the strategy: 1) Spinners will attack from both ends. 2) Fielders close in to stop singles. 3) We keep the energy high and put pressure on every ball. 4) If a wicket falls, we go all-out attack. Let's go out there and fight!
All: Yes, Captain! Let's do this!

1. Speech Writing:
Write a Speech on the Topic “Advantages of Education in Life”
Respected Principal, teachers, and my dear friends. Today, I wish to share my views on the "Advantages of Education in Life".
Nelson Mandela once said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Education is not just about acquiring degrees; it is about learning how to think, problem-solve, and make informed decisions. It equips us with the skills necessary to secure a good career and financial stability.
Moreover, education broadens our horizons, making us more tolerant and aware of global issues. It empowers us to contribute meaningfully to society and fight against social evils like poverty and discrimination. Let us, therefore, value our education and use it for the greater good of humanity. Thank you.

3. Expansion of Idea:
Expand the following idea in about 100-120 words for the proverb “Fortune favours Brave”
Fortune Favours the Brave
Success is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice and courage. The proverb "Fortune favours the brave" reminds us that luck or destiny generally supports those who are willing to take risks and face challenges head-on. People who are timid or afraid of failure rarely achieve great heights.
History is replete with examples of brave souls who changed the world. Columbus discovered America because he dared to sail into the unknown. Soldiers win battles not just by strength, but by sheer courage. In our daily lives too, whether it is starting a new business or standing up against injustice, it requires bravery. While luck plays a small role, it is the courageous action that creates the opportunity for luck to operate. Therefore, we must cast aside fear and march forward, for fortune smiles upon those who dare.

The Art of Connection: Mastering Communication Skills
Communication is the act of transferring information from one place, person, or group to another. It is the very foundation of human interaction. Effective communication involves not just speaking, but also active listening and understanding.
There are primarily two types of communication: Verbal (spoken and written) and Non-verbal (body language, gestures). In the past, communication was slow, relying on letters and messengers. Today, technology has made it instant through emails and social media. The advantage is speed and global reach, but the disadvantage is the loss of personal touch and rising misunderstandings due to lack of face-to-face interaction.
In conclusion, while tools change, the core value of clear and empathetic communication remains key to success in both personal and professional life.
