(3) Group Discussion
Question: Sahil, Aniket and Aliya have recently discussed on a topic 'Social Media affecting teenager's life'. Draft this group discussion in the form of dialogues on this topic.
Topic: Social Media affecting teenager's life
Participants: Sahil, Aniket, Aliya
Sahil: Hello everyone. Today, we are here to discuss how social media affects the lives of teenagers. In my opinion, social media has become an inseparable part of our lives. It helps us stay connected with friends and access a vast amount of information for our studies.
Aniket: I agree with you, Sahil, that it connects people, but I feel the negative impact is much stronger. Teenagers are addicted to scrolling through feeds, which wastes their valuable time. It also leads to sleep deprivation and affects their academic performance. Moreover, the pressure to look perfect online causes anxiety and depression.
Aliya: That is a valid point, Aniket. However, we cannot ignore the positive side. Many teenagers use these platforms to showcase their talents, start small businesses, or raise awareness about social issues. It gives them a voice. The problem isn't social media itself, but how we use it.
Sahil: Yes, Aliya. It’s a double-edged sword. Cyberbullying is another major concern that hurts mental health.
Aniket: Exactly. There is a lack of privacy too.
Aliya: To conclude, I think social media is a powerful tool. If teenagers use it responsibly and balance it with offline activities, it can be very beneficial. Moderation is the key.

Question: Imagine you have taken part in an elocution competition. You have selected the topic "Nature-our true teacher". Draft a speech.
Nature: Our True Teacher
Respected Principal, honorable judges, teachers, and my dear friends,
A very good morning to all. Today, I stand before you to speak on the topic, "Nature - Our True Teacher."
William Wordsworth rightly said, "Come forth into the light of things, let Nature be your teacher." While we learn subjects like Math and Science in classrooms, Nature teaches us the values of life. Look at a tree; it gives shade even to the woodcutter who cuts it, teaching us the supreme value of forgiveness and selflessness. The rivers, flowing continuously towards the ocean despite obstacles, teach us persistence and the will to move forward.
The changing seasons teach us that nothing is permanent—winter always turns to spring, teaching us hope and patience. Even the smallest ant teaches us discipline and teamwork. Nature shows us that everything has a purpose and that balance is essential for survival.
In conclusion, if we observe closely, nature has a solution to every problem. Let us promise to respect, protect, and learn from this great teacher. Thank you.

(3) Expansion of Ideas
Question: Expand the following idea with the help of the points given below : "Social Distancing – A need of today" (Need, Purpose, Roles and responsibilities, Awareness, Acceptance of the fact)
Social Distancing – A Need of Today
In the wake of the global pandemic, the term "Social Distancing" has become an integral part of our vocabulary. It is no longer just a choice but a critical necessity for survival. The primary need for social distancing is to break the chain of transmission of contagious viruses like COVID-19.
The purpose is simple: to protect oneself and the community. By maintaining a physical distance, we reduce the risk of spreading infection to vulnerable groups like the elderly and those with existing health conditions. However, the government alone cannot enforce this; it is the role and responsibility of every citizen to adhere to these norms voluntarily.
Awareness campaigns have played a huge role, but implementation requires discipline. We must accept the fact that until a permanent cure is found, our lifestyle must change. Avoiding crowded places, working remotely, and maintaining hygiene are the new normals. Social distancing is not about emotional disconnection but physical spacing to ensure that we all live to hug each other another day.
