    Reproduction
    The biological process by which new individual organisms – "offspring" – are produced from their "parents".
    Inheritance
    The process by which genetic information (traits) is passed on from parent to child.
    Variation
    Any difference between cells, individual organisms, or groups of organisms of any species caused either by genetic differences or by the effect of environmental factors.
    Molecular
    Relating to or consisting of molecules (the smallest particle of a substance that has all the physical and chemical properties of that substance).
    Evolution
    The process by which different kinds of living organisms are believed to have developed from earlier forms during the history of the earth.
    Nutrition
    The process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health and growth.
    Respiration
    The process in living organisms of taking in oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide, often involving the oxidation of complex organic substances to release energy.
    Circulation
    The movement of blood through the vessels of the body that is induced by the pumping action of the heart.
    Coordination
    The harmonious functioning of different parts of an organism in an activity.
    Enhancement
    An increase or improvement in quality, value, or extent.
    Biotechnology
    The use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products, or any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.
    Organisms
    Individual living things, such as plants, animals, bacteria, or fungi.
    Populations
    All the inhabitants of a particular town, area, or country; or a group of organisms of the same species living in a particular area.
    Ecosystems
    A biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment.
    Biodiversity
    The variety of plant and animal life in the world or in a particular habitat, a high level of which is usually considered to be important and desirable.
    Conservation
    The protection, preservation, management, or restoration of wildlife and of natural resources such as forests, soil, and water.

    HSC
    Higher Secondary Certificate; a public examination taken by students in India after completing 12th grade.
