Sentence Transformation: Using "No Sooner... Than"
Hey Kids! Want to learn a super cool trick with words? We're going to use "No sooner... than" to talk about two things that happen one right after the other, like snap! snap! It's like saying, "The first thing just finished, and bam! the second thing started!"
Here’s the secret recipe:
1. Start with "No sooner".
2. Then, add a helping word (like did, does, had, or was/were).
3. Next, say who or what did the first action.
4. After that, add the first action word (the verb).
5. Finally, use "than" before you tell the second thing that happened.
For example: If "The cat saw the mouse" and then "The cat chased it."
We can say: "No sooner did the cat see the mouse than it chased it."
This means the cat chased the mouse immediately after seeing it! It's fun, right? Let's look at some examples below!
