முன்னுரை:

விபத்துக்கான காரணங்கள்:

சாலை விபத்துகளுக்குப் பல காரணங்கள் உள்ளன. அதிவேகமாக வாகனங்களை இயக்குதல், மது அருந்திவிட்டு ஓட்டுதல், கைபேசியில் பேசிக்கொண்டே ஓட்டுதல், சாலை விதிகளை மதிக்காமல் செல்லுதல், முறையான பயிற்சி இன்றி வாகனங்களை இயக்குதல் போன்றவை முக்கியக் காரணங்களாகும். மேலும், தரமற்ற சாலைகளும், போதிய வெளிச்சமின்மையும் விபத்துகளுக்கு வழிவகுக்கின்றன.

பாதுகாப்பு நடவடிக்கைகள்:

* இருசக்கர வாகன ஓட்டிகள் கட்டாயம் தலைக்கவசம் அணிய வேண்டும்.

* மகிழுந்து ஓட்டுநர்கள் இருக்கைப் பட்டை (Seat belt) அணிய வேண்டும்.

* பாதசாரிகள் நடைபாதையைப் பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும்; சாலையைக் கடக்க மேம்பாலங்களைப் பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

* போக்குவரத்து சைகைகளுக்கு (Traffic Signals) மதிப்பளித்துச் செல்ல வேண்டும்.

* வாகனங்களை உரிய காலத்தில் பராமரித்து, நல்ல நிலையில் வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும்.

அரசின் பங்கு:

சாலைப் பாதுகாப்பை உறுதி செய்வதில் அரசுக்கு முக்கியப் பங்குண்டு. தரமான சாலைகளை அமைத்தல், சாலை விதிகளை மீறுவோருக்குக் கடுமையான அபராதம் விதித்தல், பள்ளிப் பாடத்திட்டத்தில் சாலைப் பாதுகாப்பு குறித்த பாடங்களைச் சேர்த்தல், விழிப்புணர்வு முகாம்களை நடத்துதல் போன்றவற்றின் மூலம் விபத்துகளைக் குறைக்கலாம்.

What are the different vehicles that you see? How do you come to school?

Transport means movement of people and goods from one place to another.

Today we travel by road using scooters, auto rickshaws, cars, buses, vans, trains. A train can carry many more people than a bus or a van. We travel in the air using aeroplanes and helicopters and on water using ships and boats.

We can travel long distances in a short time using these modes of transport. They need fuel (petrol or diesel) to move.

The fire engine and the ambulance are special vehicles. A fire engine helps us to put out fires. An ambulance helps to take sick people to hospital.

Always give way to these vehicles

Story of Transport

In early times man walked, used palanquins or animals like elephants and horses to travel from one place to another.

Elephants were used to travel across thick forests and were trained to carry loads and people.

Then man invented the wheel. No vehicle on the road can move without the wheel. Man used the wheel to make carts. He used animals like horses, bullocks and donkeys to pull carts with loads and to travel.

He made chariots and bicycles using the wheel. Then came all the vehicles that we see today - cars, buses, trains and auto rickshaws.
