Abdul Kalam Science Club Organizes Tree Plantation Drive
Dharavi, June 15:
The Abdul Kalam Science Club launched its first project of the academic year with a commendable tree plantation program along the 90-feet road in Dharavi. The necessary permission for this green initiative was obtained from the Municipal Commissioner.
The event was graced by the presence of the Mayor, who attended the ceremony held in a small pandal erected for the occasion. In a generous gesture, renowned cricketer Mr. Sachin Tendulkar donated all the saplings and the protective steel cages required to shield them. During the ceremony, the Mayor expressed his delight at the enthusiasm shown by the young scientists for environmental conservation. Our beloved Principal also shared a few words of encouragement.
Following the speeches, students began digging pits at 50-foot intervals. In total, 16 saplings were planted on both sides of the road. The President of the Science Club then spoke, solemnly promising that he and his team would supervise the maintenance of the newly planted trees. As it was a holiday, many students from neighboring schools were also present to witness the event.
The crowd cheered for the President and the club members. It was a truly satisfying day for everyone involved.
