ஒரு பானையில் மண் நிரப்பி அதில் நவதானியங்களை நெருக்கமாக தூவி, அதை வெயில் அதிகம் படாத ஒரு இடத்தில் நாலைந்து நாட்களுக்கு வைத்துவிடுவார்கள்.

தினமும் பானையில் இருக்கும் மண்ணிற்கு நீர் ஊற்றி வருவார்கள். எனவே, பயிர் வகை, விதைகள் நெருக்கமாக பானையில் முளைத்து, வளர்ந்து நிற்கும் பானையை நோன்பிருந்து கோவிலுக்கு ஊர்வலமாக எடுத்துச் செல்வார்கள். இதையே முளைப்பாரி என்கிறோம். முளைப்பாரி இல்லாத மாரியம்மன் விழா இல்லை. முளைப்பாரி பல்லாயிரம் வருட விவசாய வாழ்க்கையின் தொடர்ச்சியான விவசாய சடங்கு.

மாட்டு எருவையும், ஆட்டு எருவையும் வயலுக்கு இடவேண்டும் என்று தாத்தா கூறுகிறார் ஆனால் அப்பாவோ, உடனே பலன் தருவது செயற்கை உரம் தான் என்கிறார். யார் கூறுவது சரி?

விடை:

இருவரும் கூறுவது சரிதான். மாட்டு எருவையும், ஆட்டு எருவையும் வயலுக்கு இடுவதனால் அவைகள் இயற்கை உரமாக இருப்பதனால், இயற்கை வேளாண்மைக்கு உதவுகிறது. உடலுக்கு எந்த விதமான பாதிப்பையும் ஏற்படுத்தாத ஆரோக்கியமான உணவுப் பொருட்களை தருகிறது. மண் வளமும் பாதுகாக்கப்படுகிறது. மண்ணில் நுண்ணுயிரிகள் வாழவும் வழிவகை செய்கிறது.

செயற்கை உரம் இடுவதால் உடனே பலனைத்தரும். ஆனால், அதனால் வேதிப்பொருட்கள் மண்ணில் கலந்து மண் வளம் பாதிக்கப்படுகிறது. நுண்ணுயிரிகளும் அழிந்து விடுகிறது. மனித உடலுக்கு கெடுதலை விளைவிக்கும் வேதிப்பொருட்கள் கலந்த உணவையே தருகிறது. அதனால் மனிதன் தனது ஆரோக்கியத்தை இழந்து பல நோய்களுக்கு உட்படுகிறான். இருவர் கூறுவதும் சரியாக இருந்தாலும், இயற்கை உரங்களை வயலுக்கு இடுவதே நல்லது. அதுவே மனித ஆரோக்கியத்திற்கு சிறந்ததாகும்.

Chandru, a school boy goes to stationery shop to buy picture charts and sketch pens for his project.

Let us see the conversation he had with the shop keeper.

STATIONERY SHOP

Chandru: Uncle, do you have sketch pens?

Shopkeeper: Yes.

Chandru looks around the shop and he finds maps and different picture charts.

Chandru: Uncle, what does this chart have?

Shopkeeper: This chart has pictures of historical places in Tamil Nadu.

Chandru: What are historical places?

Shopkeeper: These are the places where buildings, idols and arts were made long ago. The government keeps them safe. So that we can learn about them.

Chandru: I have gone to Mahabalipuram with my parents. It is near Chennai.

Shopkeeper: Yes. It has four different styles of architectures.

Chandru: Is it? Who built it?

Shopkeeper: Yes. It was built by Pallavas.

Chandru: My mother told me that most of the monuments were made out of just one stone.

Shopkeeper: Yes correct. Do you know something? Why the Shore temple is called so?

Chandru: No.

Shopkeeper: The Sea Shore Temple is so named because it over looks the shore of the Bay of Bengal.

Chandru: Oh! Is it! great.

Chandru: The statue is so tall.

Shopkeeper: Yes, is 133 feet tall. Does 133 remind you of anything?

Chandru: Thirukural has 133 adhikarams or chapters.

Shopkeeper: Well done. That statue‛s height denotes the number of chapters in Thirukural.

Chandru: What is the name of the sea that surrounds the statue?

Shopkeeper: The statue is built on the rock which is surrounded by Arabian sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal.

Chandru: Wow! The statue looks majestic.

Have you seen the monuments with names and drawings scribbled by people? Do you think is it correct to do this? Write your views.

Yes, I have seen monuments with names and drawing scribbled by people. I do not think it is correct. These ancient buildings and monuments are a great historical value. We should not damage them by writing on them. We should protect them because they are a part of our cultural heritage.
