The life of a sea turtle is a fascinating journey. It begins as an egg buried in the sand on a beach. After hatching, the baby turtle, or hatchling, makes a dangerous journey to the sea, avoiding predators. They spend their entire lives in the ocean, migrating long distances between feeding grounds and nesting sites. Female turtles return to the same beach where they were born to lay their own eggs. They face many threats from predators and human activities, but they are resilient creatures of the sea.

Owen was taken to a wildlife sanctuary. Everyone thought he could be well looked after there. But Owen was not happy at all. He was tired and very frightened. As soon as he reached the sanctuary, he saw the large greyish tortoise. It looked bit motherly. He ran to the creature and hid behind it. Just like a baby hippo would hide behind its mother. The animal he chose was 130 year old giant tortoise called Mzee. Mzee was very surprised by Owen. But he left Owen to cuddle close to him. Soon the two of them became friends.
