12. How did Hamid's friends enjoys the games in the fair?

Answer: Hamid's friends enjoyed the games in the fair by riding on the merry-go-round and the giant wheel. They spent their money on rides and toys, having a lot of fun.

13. Write about Hamid in one or two sentences?

Answer: Hamid was a poor, thoughtful four-year-old boy who lived with his grandmother. He was selfless and mature for his age, choosing to buy a pair of tongs for his granny instead of toys for himself at the fair.

14. What did suresh ask Usha? Why?

Answer: Suresh asked Usha if she was living in the ruins. He asked this because he saw her standing alone near the spooky, old building late in the evening.

18. Write about Hamid and his Granny?

Answer: Hamid was a young, poor orphan boy who lived with his loving grandmother, Amina. Their bond was very special and filled with love and care. Amina worked very hard to provide for Hamid. Hamid, in turn, was extremely mature and caring for his age. At the Eid fair, instead of buying toys or sweets for himself, he spent his little money on a pair of tongs for his grandmother so she wouldn't burn her fingers while cooking. This selfless act showed his deep love for her and brought tears of joy and pride to Amina's eyes.

19. "Was it just the wind"? - What do you think Usha thought it was? Why?

Answer: Usha probably thought it wasn't just the wind. She might have believed it was a ghost or some other supernatural presence. She was alone in a dark, ruined building at night, and the stories her grandfather told about the haunted hill were fresh in her mind. The eerie sounds, the flickering of her lamp, and the spooky atmosphere would have made her imagination create frightening possibilities beyond just the wind.
