29. Describe the struggles underwent by the young seagull to overcome its fear of flying.

The young seagull was terrified to fly, believing its wings wouldn't support it. While its family flew away, it remained alone on the ledge for a day, starving. It watched its parents perfecting its siblings' flight and felt miserable. The turning point came when its mother, holding a piece of fish, flew close but didn't land. Maddened by hunger, the seagull dived for the fish, falling outwards and downwards. In that moment of terror, its wings instinctively spread, and it began to fly, finally overcoming its deep-seated fear.

32. 'Man does change with time' What were the various changes that came about in Aditya ?

The statement 'Man does change with time' is perfectly illustrated by Aditya. As a child, he was mischievous and callously took his classmate Sanyal's silver medal without thinking of the consequences. He left his village and became a successful man in Kolkata. On returning to his ancestral home after 29 years, he is filled with nostalgia and remorse. He actively seeks out Nagen's tea shop to inquire about Sanyal, showing a newfound sense of responsibility. His decision to find the medal in the attic and return it to Sanyal, along with a sum of money, marks his transformation from a thoughtless boy to a mature and compassionate man who wants to atone for his past mistakes.

Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, was exiled and cast away to a deserted island with his young daughter, Miranda. For twelve years, they were the only human inhabitants, with only spirits for company. The chief of these spirits was Ariel, whom Prospero had freed from a curse. Using his magic, Prospero commanded Ariel to create a powerful storm to shipwreck a vessel carrying his enemies, including his usurping brother Antonio. The shipwreck brought Ferdinand, the Prince of Naples, to the island, where he and Miranda fell in love. Ariel, under Prospero's command, brought the other survivors to safety and made them realize their past mistakes. Seeing their repentance, Prospero's heart softened. He forgave them all, his dukedom was restored, and he prepared to return to Milan with his daughter and her new love.
