What is translation?

Ans. Translation means converting the text typed in one language into another language For this we can use google translate. To translate means to convert a word or series of words in one language, say English, into a corresponding word or series of words of another language, say Marathi. Here, English is the source language and Marathi is the target language. The translated word or series of words in Marathi will be the most similar in meaning to the English word or words.

In translation, a sentence in the source language is re-expressed in the target language by using the correct words and grammar of the target language, but retaining the meaning. Thus, for example, the sentence "You are beautiful'. will be translated into Hindi as ‘आप खूबसूररत हैं।'.

What is an Inscript keyboard?

Ans. Inscript keyboard: The InScript (Indian Script) keyboard layout is the default option for text entry in Indian languages. This layout uses the standard 101 keyboard. Since the basic character set of the Indian languages is common, the mapping of the characters remains common for all the Indian languages, written left to right.

The Indian language alphabet table is divided into Vowels (Swar) and Consonants (Vyanjan). The vowels are divided into long and short vowels, and the consonants are divided into vargs . In the InScript layout, all the vowels are placed on the left side of the keyboard layout, and the consonants on the right side. The placement is such that the characters of one varg are split over two keys. Also, each vowel and vowel sign are put on the same key.

What is UTF-82

Ans. UTF stands for UCS (Unicode Character Set) Transformation Formats. UTF-8 encodes each of the more than 1 million Unicode characters using one to four 8-bit bytes (called octets in the Unicode Standard) of 1s and 0s.

Different keyboards use different inputting mechanism for entering a character. UTF-8 encoding standard ensures that data and documents are stored in a consistent manner so that there is no problem while transporting documents across operating systems, proof checking,
