1) Describe the confrontation between the narrator and pongo.

Answer: The confrontation between the narrator and Pongo was tense and intimidating for the narrator. After the narrator stole seventeen oranges and hid them in his pockets, he was caught by Pongo, the policeman. The narrator was very frightened. Pongo, instead of arresting him, decided on a unique punishment. He made the narrator eat all seventeen oranges, including the peels and the pips, as a way to destroy the evidence. The narrator struggled to swallow everything, felt very sick, and suffered immensely. After he finished, Pongo let him go, teaching him a harsh lesson he would never forget.

2) What are some measures that are used to prevent soil erosion?
