Ans. (1)  India has a coastline of about 7,517 km and the southernmost tip of the Indian peninsula is Kanyakumari.

(2) India is bounded in the west and south west by the Arabian Sea, in the east and south - east by the Bay of Bengal, and in the south by the Indian Ocean.

(3) The Maldives, Sri Lanka and Indonesia are island nations to the south of India.

(4) Sri Lanka is separated from India by the Gulf of Mannar and the narrow channel of Palk strait.

(5) Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Thailand are the countries with which India shares maritime boundaries.
