  • Rule 1 (Present Participle → V+ing): Use this when two actions happen almost at the SAME TIME by the same person.
Example: He saw the tiger. He ran away. → Seeing the tiger, he ran away.
  • Rule 2 (Perfect Participle → Having + V3): Use this when one action is COMPLETELY FINISHED before the second action begins.
Example: He finished his work. He went home. → Having finished his work, he went home.
  • Rule 3 (Infinitives for Purpose → to + V1): Use this when the second sentence shows the REASON or PURPOSE of the first.
Example: She went to Mumbai. She wanted to find a job. → She went to Mumbai to find a job.
  • Rule 4 (Infinitives for Result → too...to / enough to):
👉 Use 'too...to' for negative results (very weak → too weak to walk).
👉 Use 'enough to' for positive results (very tall → tall enough to reach).
