The classroom atmosphere was different, with the village elders, including the old Hauser, the former mayor, and the former postmaster, sitting silently at the back benches. M. Hamel taught his final French lesson with immense patience and dedication, calling French the most beautiful language in the world. Overwhelmed with emotion, he could not speak at the end. He turned to the blackboard and wrote as large as he could, "Vive La France!" (Long Live France!), and dismissed the class with a gesture of his hand.

Subject: Poor Maintenance of Street Lights on Gandhi Street
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the concerned municipal authorities to the poor condition of street lights in our locality, Gandhi Street.
For the past month, most of the street lights in our area have been non-functional. As soon as darkness falls, the entire street is plunged into darkness, making it very difficult for residents, especially women and senior citizens, to walk safely. The darkness has also led to a rise in petty crimes and creates a risk of accidents.
We have lodged several complaints with the local municipal office, but no action has been taken so far. I suggest the authorities immediately repair the existing lights and consider installing modern, energy-efficient LED lights. Regular maintenance checks should also be scheduled to prevent such issues in the future.
I hope this letter will awaken the authorities from their slumber and they will take the necessary steps to brighten our area.
Thank you.
Yours truly,
Raja
Section - VI
Write a paragraph of about 150 words by developing the following hints. (The Hero of Holland)
Holland is a country where much of the land lies below sea level, protected by massive walls called dikes. The story of "The Little Hero of Holland" revolves around a brave young boy named Peter. One day, while walking along a canal, Peter noticed a small hole in the dike, with water trickling through. He knew that even a tiny leak could quickly grow and flood the entire town. Without a second thought, he thrust his finger into the hole to stop the flow of water. As evening fell and the weather grew cold, Peter screamed for help, but no one heard him. He bravely stayed there all night, his finger plugging the hole. The next morning, a man passing by noticed Peter and quickly raised an alarm. People rushed to the spot, mended the dike, and saved the town. Peter's quick thinking and courage saved Holland from a great disaster, and he became a celebrated hero for his selfless act.
