Matra (मात्रा)
In Hindi and other scripts using the Devanagari alphabet, a Matra (मात्रा) is a vowel sign or diacritic mark. It is attached to a consonant to change its sound by adding a specific vowel sound.
OO / ū (ऊ)
The letter ऊ is a vowel in the Hindi alphabet. It represents the long "oo" sound, similar to the sound in the English words "moon" or "food".
OO ki Matra ( ू )
The symbol ( ू ) is the specific Matra for the vowel 'ऊ'. When this sign is added below a consonant, it gives the consonant the long "oo" sound.
Example: क (k) + ू (oo) = कू (koo)
