8y = x – 10; 2x = 3y + 7

(iv) 8y = x – 10; 2x = 3y + 7

Sol. 8y = x – 10
∴  – x + 8y = – 10
Comparing with a1x + b1y = c1 we get, a1 = – 1, b1 = 8, c1 = – 10

2x = 3y + 7
∴  2x – 3y = 7
Comparing with a2x + b2y = c2 we get, a2 = 2, b2 = – 3, c2 = 7

a1/a2 = -1/2 = -1/2 ............ eq. no. (i)
b1/b2 = 8/-3 = -8/3 ............ eq. no. (ii)
c1/c2 = -10/7 = -10/7 ............ eq. no. (iii)

From Equation (i) , (ii) and (iii) we get

a1/a2 ≠ b1/b2
