If sodium chloride is added to silver nitrate solution:

a. which precipitate is formed?
b. name the type of reaction.
c. write the chemical equation.

Ans.

If Sodium Chloride is added to Silver Nitrate Solution then,
(a) A white coloured precipitate of silver chloride is formed.
(b) The reaction is double displacement reaction.
(c) AgNO3(aq) + NaCl(aq) --------> NaNO3(aq) + AgCl(s)
Where: AgNO3(aq) = Silver nitrate
NaCl(aq) = Sodium Chloride
NaNO3(aq) = Sodium Nitrate

AgCl(s) = Silver Chloride
