Wrong Strategy Spoils Right Cause

While driving towards the office today, commuters encountered numerous and unusual traffic jams. Ironically, the jams were a direct result of a special drive launched by the Chennai Traffic Police against pollution-causing vehicles. This initiative followed Chennai's recent inclusion in the list of Indian cities with the highest levels of air pollution.

Authorities attempted to crack down on vehicles emitting excessive pollution, but poor planning ultimately spoiled the initiative. The most significant error was barricading major city intersections during peak hours, which created widespread havoc on the roads. The problems became so severe that the drive had to be canceled midway. Hopefully, the authorities will be better prepared next time.
