Services of housewives are excluded from national income.

(i) In economics, National Income includes only those goods and services which are exchanged for money and it is always expressed in monetary terms.

(ii) The services of housewives are provided out of love and affection of a mother towards family members. Thus nobody pays any money for that. Therefore, services of housewives are excluded from national income.
