The term knowledge society generally refers to a
society where knowledge is the primary production resource instead of capital
and labour.
Knowledge has become a major source of productivity. Globalisation and
new world economy demanding knowledge-based economies. A knowledge society create, share and uses knowledge
for the prosperity and well-being of its people. In society, the knowledge
society brings greater access to information.
Individuals there fore have more opportunities to participate in and
influence the development of their societies.
