Extraction of copper from its sulphide ore.

i.      The concentrated copper sulphide ore is roasted in air when a part of copper sulphide is oxidized to copper oxide. 

     Copper oxide formed above reacts with the remaining copper sulphide to form copper metal and sulphur dioxide.
